Vectis Privacy Policy
This policy applies to Vectis and outlines our obligations in managing personal information we hold about our clients, potential clients and our clients' customers and our business partners. Vectis is bound by the National Privacy principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988.
Purpose of data collection
Vectis collects personal information falls into two categories and is held for the following reasons:
- Data held about Vectis clients, prospective clients and business partners. This is held to market its products and services and to conduct its normal business activities.
- Data held about our clients' customers or prospects, which we will use for analysis, data cleaning and data preparation for targeted marketing campaigns on behalf of our clients.
The type of data held
- For the first category the data held by Vectis will normally comprise:
- Contact details: name, address, email, telephone numbers
- Work-related information: organisation name, job title, company profile
- Other details which are relevant to the service provided
- Transaction details
- For the second category the data held by Vectis may comprise one or more of the following types of information:
- Contact details: name, address, email, telephone numbers
- Business-related or personal demographic data
- Transaction history
- Contact history
- Other marketing-related data
How we obtain data
- The data Vectis holds about its own clients and prospective clients is obtained:
- Through its normal business dealings
- From enquiries made by clients via internet or personal interaction
- From sources available in the public domain or from commercial sources
- The data Vectis holds on behalf of its clients is provided by the client using secure data transfer methods.
Disclosure of data to third parties
- The data we hold about our own clients, prospective clients and business partners will not be disclosed to any third party without the consent of the individual concerned.
- In order to carry out its services on clients' own customer data it may be necessary for Vectis to use another organisation or contractor to provide, for example:
- A specialised database management service
- Specialist data analysis services
- Data enhancement or data cleaning services
All contractors and third parties used are bound by our standard client confidentiality agreements.
